I’M JAN – A MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST WITH A FOCUS ON AUDIO.
About Me.
I live for creation. On one hand, there is the solitary process of locking myself away to produce something creative without any distractions. On the other hand, there is the collaborative process with other creatives, which brings about new ideas and unique perspectives.
Currently, I am enrolled in the "Multimedia and Communication" program in Ansbach, Germany, with a specialization in audio and technology.
Originally from Erlangen, I completed high school in 2017 and subsequently embarked on a six-month backpacking trip across South America. In 2018/2019, I undertook a social year at the cultural institution E-Werk, which helped me recognise my passion for working creatively exceeds a mere interest.
Most of my time is spent creating music - both my own compositions and producing with / for others. I predominantly work from my home studio collaborating with local musicians, but I have also experienced working in various professional studios across Germany.
Fascinated by the many facets of creative work, I also do visual work. My main area of expertise is creating illustrations and producing photo and video projects.
In my free time i enjoy reading Mangas and exploring new, inspiring places & cultures.

My Work.
In this section, I aim to present snippets of my audio and visual productions.
My Music.
Here you can listen to the music I create as an independent artist. The projects presented here are produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by myself. I have experience in various styles of music and am always looking to expand my horizons, but my expertise is currently focused on electronic music.
In my music I try to unite seemingly opposing worlds. English and German, energetic and melancholic, self-critical and self-confident. My music is unconventional and a mixture of atmospheric instrumentation, driving beats and melodic, often altered voices.
Student Audio Projects.
The following excerpts were produced as part of my studies in Multimedia and Communication, where I gained experience in recording and mixing in the university's recording studio.
Commissioned Music.
Over the past few years, I have collaborated with several local artists. For the showcased selection, I fulfilled the roles of producer, recording engineer, and mixing engineer.
Video Projects.
Here is a range of image films, music videos, and aftershow movies created in recent years, some of which were commissioned, while others were produced as part of my studies or personal projects.

Photography.
This gallery displays a selection of my work, primarily consisting of event and concert photography. The final slide presentation exhibits a photographic study concerning the issue of "humanity and plastic."
